'It's different every week!"
Such was the reply of one of our newer members when asked on the bus what it was like coming to Bolney Village Chapel!
We are a family who acknowledge the living God as our Heavenly Father, and so when we meet on Sundays we meet to worship Him and spend time with each other. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and so spending time reading and reflecting on a passage from the Bible is at the centre of our worship. But we also believe that we as we worship a living God we may expect to hear from Him and be changed by Him as we spend time in His presence. The ministry of the church ought to look like the ministry of Jesus and so our times together are characterised by looking to Him to bring freedom, healing and forgiveness.
Our Sunday worship is, therefore, varied and informal. Children are welcome at all our services and will spend part of the time in their own groups.
Our monthly pattern of morning services looks like this:
1st Sunday: 10.30am - 12pm Bolney's Late Late Breakfast
An informal café style event with coffee, bacon sandwiches, and kids craft. The morning includes a talk exploring an issue of life and faith, or a testimony from a visiting speaker.
2nd, 3rd and 4th and 5th Sundays: 10.30am - 12pm Informal Worship
Coffee served from 10.30am. From 10.45 - 12.00pm we have worship with a blend of traditional hymns and modern songs, Bible teaching and opportunity for prayer. Children leave for their own activities after the first 20 minutes or so. On the 3rd Sunday we celebrate Communion together and the service is followed a bring-and-share lunch and a prayer meeting from 1.15 - 1.45pm
