  • Bible verse for 2020:

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds" Hebrews 10:24

    Everyone is welcome at

    Bolney Village Chapel

We are a community of all ages, and from all walks of life, who have discovered, and are discovering, what it means to be loved by God.

We believe that God has shown us how much He loves us through His son Jesus Christ, who we believe died on our behalf, so that we might enjoy this life to the full, and look forward to eternal life when this one ends.

We make no pretence to be perfect or to have life sorted, but we know that we are loved and forgiven by God.  We welcome anyone who would like to come with us on this journey of discovery and adventure.

We hope that you enjoy exploring our site - please contact us if you can't find what you are looking for, and perhaps we will have the pleasure of meeting you one day.

The BBC recently broadcasted an interview with the father of Natasha, the girl who died of an allergic reaction . We encourage you to listen to his testimony. Simon Allaby referred to it in the morning service on 5th January . Here is a link to the podcast  A Bright yellow light

  • First of all may I wish you a very Happy New Year. As when Jesus was born 2,000 years ago, we live in a world beset with problems and filled with suffering and conflict. But, as we were reflecting last Sunday, that’s precisely why Jesus came - not because everything was alright with the world, but because it wasn’t and we needed a Saviour. The Good News is that He joins us in the mess and rescues us from it! May we remember that as we begin this new year and new decade. We have no idea what is in store for us, but we have His promise that He will be with us.

    We are Family

Without wishing in any way to be critical, I was struck last Sunday by the fact that some friends joined us for worship because their own church was not meeting that day. It reminded me of something I learned many years ago about church not being an event that we invite people to, but rather a community that we invite them to join. If Sunday worship is an event then of course we may cancel, but if its about being with your family….

BVC is a very special family that God has called together in this village to share the Good News of His Son Jesus and we need to encourage and support one another as we do so. So for 2020 we have chosen as our verse for the year Hebrews 10:24 ‘And so let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds’. The following verse continues ‘Let us not give us meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.’ May this be a year in which our love and commitment to one another produces fruit for the Kingdom of God and lives saved for eternity.

    Life Group

At the start of this new year, and following on from what I’ve written above, can I encourage you to consider joining us on Wednesday evenings for Life Group? This is a great time to ‘be family’ as we share a meal together, before worship, study and prayer for one another. This term we will be exploring the Bible passages from Luke’s Gospel that will be the focus of our Sunday preaching series.
